Why it exists
A carrier with twelve trucks carries the same regulatory load as one with two hundred. The same medical certificates expire, the same biennial update comes due, the same Clean Truck Check has to be paid before the DMV will renew a registration. What is different is that nobody in the office does compliance full time. It is the owner, or a family member, between everything else.
Tools built for that load assume a compliance department. They cost hundreds a month, take a week to learn, and bundle dispatch and telematics nobody asked for. So most small carriers run on a wall calendar, a spreadsheet, and memory — which works until the week it does not, and then a driver is parked at a scale house.
A calendar reminder is free and mostly works — for the dates you already know about. It cannot tell you that your MCS-150 month is set by your USDOT number, that random drug testing has to be spread through the year, or which rules stop applying below 26,001 lb. You cannot set a reminder for an obligation you have never heard of. That gap is the reason this exists.
One USDOT number. About a minute. No account.
