Text messages

Effective 16 September 2026

Did you get a text from us?

FleetView Compliance is software your employer uses to keep track of trucking paperwork. If you got a text from us, your employer asked us to send it, and their company name is in the message. We are not a government agency.

To stop the messages, reply STOP to any of them. That works straight away. It stops the texts and nothing else — it does not affect your job, and it does not tell us anything about you.

Not sure a message was really from us? Do not open the link. Write to info@fleetviewcompliance.com and we will tell you.

What this programme sends

FleetView Compliance sends text messages about compliance paperwork: deadlines coming due, and requests to send in a document such as a medical examiner’s certificate.

It sends nothing else. No advertising, no offers, no newsletters. We do not text anybody to sell them something, and we never will — a compliance reminder that arrives beside an advert stops being read, which would break the one thing this product is for.

How people join

Two ways, and nobody is ever signed up by being texted first.

A carrier — the owner, or whoever runs the office
How they agree. Types their own mobile number into their account settings and ticks the box beside it. The box is empty until they tick it, and the wording above names the programme, what it sends, how often, that rates may apply, and how to stop.
What happens next. Gets one message confirming it, then deadline alerts for their own account.
A driver
How they agree. Opens a link his employer hands him and ticks an empty box himself. A fleet administrator may add a driver’s contact information to FleetView Compliance, but that does not enrol the driver in SMS messaging and the employer cannot tick the box for him. Until the driver ticks it, no text is sent to his number for any reason.
What happens next. Gets the deadline reminders he asked for. He can stop them by replying STOP to any of them, or by unticking the same box on his own link.

A driver, step by step

  1. A fleet owner adds a driver, with or without a phone number.
  2. Text messages stay off. The driver’s status is "not opted in" and nothing is sent.
  3. FleetView Compliance creates a secure link, unique to that driver, which expires after seven days.
  4. The owner hands the driver that link, by email or in person. It cannot be sent by text, because texting him is the thing he has not agreed to.
  5. The driver opens the link himself and reads the disclosure below.
  6. He ticks a box that starts empty.
  7. He presses the button to turn text messages on.
  8. FleetView Compliance records the consent — the wording he saw, the time, and where it came from.
  9. Only now do text reminders start.

The boxes themselves

These are the real controls, shown here so you can read them without an account. They are empty until somebody ticks them, and nothing on this page is saved.

There are two, and a driver's is the only one that can switch on messages to a driver. The other belongs to an owner or office user agreeing about their own number.

The exact wording

This is the sentence a person agrees to when he ticks the box, and it is what we keep with the record of his consent:

“I agree to receive SMS messages from FleetView Compliance regarding compliance deadlines, document expiration alerts, document requests, and account-related notifications. Message frequency varies and is typically a few messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchasing or using FleetView Compliance services.”

What we do with the number

We do not sell, share, or provide your mobile phone number, text-message opt-in data or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are not shared with anyone.

The number is used to send these messages and for nothing else. Twilio carries them for us — that is delivery, not marketing, and no other company receives the number. The full list of who touches your data is in the privacy policy.

Stopping the texts does not delete the number from your employer's records. If you want it removed, ask your employer, or write to us at info@fleetviewcompliance.com.
